GHGSat Recognized as Best Specialist Data Provider by ESG Investing Awards

GHGSat, the world leader in emissions monitoring technology, has been voted Best Specialist Data Provider in the 2025 ESG Investing Awards. The

ESG Investing Awards are devoted to assessing and evaluating the best companies involved in all areas of ESG investing across the globe, including investment funds, research, and vendor products. Awards categories are determined by a panel of independent judges comprised of financial market professionals and academics.

Investors are on the front lines of environmental risks stemming from climate change, exposed to its impacts, and increasingly liable for its consequences across their portfolios. GHGSat’s facility-level emissions data provides unique insight on the sources and prevalence of greenhouse gas emissions so that the financial community can better understand and manage environmental risks and opportunities.

Harnessing a combination of satellites and aircraft technologies, GHGSat identifies and quantifies the exact source of methane emissions, down to an individual well, valve, mine, landfill, or feedlot, anywhere in the world. In 2023, GHGSat’s satellite constellation took more than three million observations across 85 countries, identifying more than 16,000 methane emissions above the “super-emitter” threshold.

“Financial institutions are a significant driver of the economic growth associated with emissions reductions—but require a clear understanding of the return on investment to unlock this potential,” said Dan Wicks, Managing Director, GHGSAT UK. “Equipping this community with reliable data for a granular view of opportunities and risks is foundational to unlocking the economic benefits from climate-informed investing.”

This granularity of asset-level emissions data empowers the financial community to invest with confidence and create new products. Emissions data can be used to validate new Net Zero technologies, from carbon capture to cattle feeds, for example. More broadly, GHGSat asset-level data helps to identify facilities most exposed to regulatory risk and emissions reduction policies, increasing transparency and enabling financial institutions to make the best possible investment decisions.
