GHGSat Named One of Fastest-Growing Technology Companies in North America

[Montreal, Canada] November 21, 2024 – GHGSat, the global leader in high-resolution satellite monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions, was selected as a winner of Deloitte’s 2024 Technology Fast 500™ awards, a recognition that the company is one of the fast-growing technology companies in North America.

To determine inclusion in the list, the Fast 500 program assesses percentage fiscal year revenue growth across a consecutive three-year period. This marks the second consecutive year in which GHGSat claimed a spot in the Energy & Sustainability Technology category, climbing from number 81 last year to number 44 this year.

This prestigious acknowledgment comes shortly after GHGSat was ranked second in Deloitte Canada’s Fast 50 awards, which focuses on the fastest-growing clean technology companies in Canada.

“We are honored that our swift growth has been recognized by Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, cementing GHGSat as a climate technology leader,” said Stephane Germain, CEO of GHGSat. “This award is a testament to GHGSat’s commitment to innovation, and the ability of our team to move first and fast, building technologies that meet urgent global demands for accurate emissions data. We continue to rapidly scale our technology and operations to enable industry and government to pinpoint greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.”

GHGSat’s unprecedented satellite constellation is the world’s largest fleet of satellites dedicated to monitoring greenhouse gases, including the world’s first commercial high-resolution CO2 sensor. With a revenue growth rate of 3,436%, GHGSat continues to scale its capabilities, with a bold mission to monitor every industrial facility globally, every day. As part of this vision, GHGSat announced last week at COP29 the planned addition of nine new satellites to its constellation. This expansion will nearly double GHGSat’s fleet of methane-monitoring satellites by the end of 2026, reinforcing its commitment to providing unmatched insights into greenhouse gas emissions.

Now in its 30th year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ program celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of companies driving technological advancement across the technology, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech sectors. Recognizing industry pioneers like Google, eBay, and Tesla as previous Fast 500 winners, this award highlights the fastest-growing technology companies across North America, celebrating transformative innovation and revenue growth.

“Innovation, transformation, and disruption of the status quo are at the forefront for this year’s Technology Fast 500 list, and there’s no better way to celebrate 30 years of program history,” said Christie Simons, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP and industry leader for technology, media and telecommunications within Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance practice. “This year’s winning companies have demonstrated a continuous commitment to growth and remarkable consistency in driving forward progress. We extend our congratulations to all of this year’s winners — it’s an incredible time for innovation.”
