GHGSAT Joins the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce

As part of GHGSat’s commitment to foster international collaboration and private-sector innovation in the fight against climate change, GHGSat has joined the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.

Established in 1921, the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce serves as a hub for businesses from Canada and the UK to connect, collaborate, and grow. Through its extensive network of members and partners, the Chamber plays a vital role in promoting trade and investment between the two countries. By joining this prestigious organization, GHGSat is now part of a thriving community dedicated to fostering innovation across the Atlantic.

Founded in 2011, GHGSat is a global leader in satellite emissions monitoring, with a fleet of satellites that trace greenhouse gases directly to industrial facilities at an unmatched cadence, arming industry and government decision-makers with the data and insights required to take action. In 2023 alone, GHGSat’s satellite constellation made more than three million observations across 85 countries and enabled the mitigation of methane emissions equivalent to taking 1.4 million cars off the road for a year.

Given GHGSat’s role in pioneering advanced space-based technology that enables industry and governments to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, leaders from GHGSat will add data-driven perspectives on space and climate issues to convenings and dialogues held at the Chamber and collaborate and advise on how to effectively expand the use of climate data across UK organizations.

“With GHGSat’s strong and growing presence in the United Kingdom, this partnership represents a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded organizations and leaders who share our commitment to sustainability,” said GHGSat UK Managing Director Dan Wicks. “Deepening our ties in the UK business community marks an exciting new chapter in our journey, and we look forward to contributing to this innovative ecosystem, strengthening collaboration between Canada and the UK to tackle climate change.”

“We are delighted to welcome GHGSat to our membership. For over 100 years, we have prioritised meaningful introductions to encourage and foster bilateral business development between Canada and the UK, and today our Chamber is comprised of representatives and leaders from some of both countries’ most innovative businesses. Many of our members share GHGSat’s sustainability commitment and will welcome the opportunity to collaborate and take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts,” said Nigel Bacon, CEO, Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce.

GHGSat’s membership in the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce underscores its commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that drive positive environmental and economic impact.
