We are excited to announce that GHGSat has officially joined the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) as a Silver Member— a reflection of our commitment to support the waste management sector through innovative greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring technologies. ISWA is a global leader in promoting sustainable waste management practices and transition to a circular economy, and we’re proud to be part of this international cohort.
As the world now focuses on the environmental impact of landfills, GHGSat is helping lead the charge with award-winning satellite monitoring solutions aimed at reducing methane emissions. Landfills are the third largest source of methane emissions, and with regulations tightening worldwide, landfill operators have a unique opportunity to take the lead in emissions reduction.
At GHGSat, we use our own satellites and aircrafts to monitor greenhouse gas emissions directly from individual sites. We provide operators with high-resolution satellite data that offers clear, actionable insights into their emissions. With access to accurate data, operators can not only meet regulatory requirements but also seize the opportunity to manage emissions proactively—transforming what was once a challenge into a solution.
In 2023 alone, GHGSat’s satellite constellation detected over 100 megatons of CO2 equivalent emissions from the waste management sector. Currently, we monitor more than 500 waste management sites globally, offering data that empowers operators to understand their emissions better and refine their mitigation strategies for maximum impact.
